First post!

January 16, 2011

I come to WordPress via a pathway I’m sure has been travelled by bloggers before me.  I started out at LiveJournal, lost interest and shacked up with Blogger.  Finding Blogger offered pretty much no way to connect with other Blogger users, I not so subtly left them, as well.  Late last year, I was inspired to attempt blogging again, and tried tumblr.  Perhaps I’m too picky, but tumblr left something to be desired as well – this time it was actual text.  It seems to me that tumblr is basically a nice place to post, if you only post pictures and minimal amounts of words.

Now I’m here at WordPress and after several days of browsing the site and skimming over the forums, I like it here.  I find the website offers many interesting links right on its homepage, easy ways for users to connect with eachother, and an easy way to customize one’s blog.

In an attempt to rid myself of the writers block that has been bothering me for years, I have decided to participate in the Post A Week 2011 challenge.  Let’s see if it works!  As a fan of optimism, I think it will.

Welcome! I’ve just been here at WordPress 7 months myself but so far so good! I like blogs like yours where the author clearly wants READERS, not spammers. In your post at the Showcase forum you’ll probably be getting one of those condescending and obnoxious posts from a person who likes to steal a lot of people’s time by pretending she’s referring you to a site that will help you attract readers but it’s really just her own site. She posts under a different name hoping people won’t notice. Take care and I hope to read your stuff, Cecilia!
